Rise of the Tomb Raider is set in Siberia, first screenshots revealed

The first details and screenshots of Rise of the Tomb Raider have been revealed, courtesy of Game Informer.

According to the site, Lara's latest adventure will send her to the frozen wilderness of Siberia "on a hunt for the lost secrets of immortality" as she faces up to a new enemy, "a secret society that has been lying in the shadows since the last game".

Lara will reportedly have access to new gear to hunt and explore "larger puzzle tombs", including, by the looks of it, two climbing axes.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider is equally ambitious as the last one," said Square Enix's head of studios Darrell Gallagher. "It's less about what is Tomb Raider. It's more about how do we top what we did last time."

Further details on Rise of the Tomb Raider are expected to be revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer, due out on digital stores later today.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this Christmas. A release on other platforms has yet to be confirmed.

Blizzard isn't making Warcraft 4, so why don't you have a go?

warcraft 3 assets -

The models and assets used to make Warcraft III have been released for modders to make use of in the StarCraft II PTR, Blizzard has announced.

"This brings over three thousand new materials for the amazing Arcade development community to work with, including new hero models for the 4 primary races, all of the original Warcraft III models including neutral creatures and their sounds as well as doodads, structures, spell effects, ambient sounds, music and custom user interfaces for each race," writes Blizzard.

"We are so excited to see what our community is going to make that we wanted to give you a head start. Once these assets become available to the public, we are going to spotlight the best content in what we are calling, 'Memories of War.' The PTR is your chance to start playing with your new tools and to start making amazing experiences."

With no sign of Warcraft 4 on the horizon, modders may be fans' only hope of seeing a new Warcraft game.

To access the StarCraft II PTR select it from the Region/Account dropdown on the Battle.net desktop home screen and begin the installation. Once complete click on the 'Launch Editor' next to the 'Redeem a Code' or launch the editor directly by navigating to your StarCraft II Public Test folder.

Battlefield Hardline PC requirements confirmed

Battlefield Hardline screenshot

EA has released the final PC requirements for Battlefield Hardline.

To get the most out of next month's cops vs. robber shooter you'll need a GTX 760 or Radeon R9 290, along with 8GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU. You'll also need 60GB free hard drive space and a 64-bit version of Windows as a minimum.

The specs are slightly higher than 2013's Battlefield 4, which got by with an 8800 GT, dual-core processor and 32-bit OS.

Nevertheless, if you're still unsure whether your PC will be able to handle Hardline you can always try out the beta, which is available to download today on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Be warned, however, that Visceral is still optimising performance on lower-end PCs, and that machines with 4GB of RAM or less "may experience issues" with the beta. If that's you, EA suggests that you close all other applications while playing the game.

Minimum:
OS: WINDOWS VISTA SP2 64-BIT (with KB971512 Update)
PROCESSOR: Athlon II/Phenom II 2.8 GHz, Intel Core i3/i5 2.4GHz
MEMORY: 4GB RAM
GRAPHICS CARD: ATI Radeon HD 5770 (1GB), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (896MB)
HARD DRIVE: 60GB
DIRECTX 11

Recommended:
OS: WINDOWS 8 64-BIT (with KB971512 Update)
CPU: INTEL QUAD-CORE CPU, AMD SIX-CORE CPU
MEMORY: 8GB RAM
GRAPHICS CARD: AMD Radeon R9 290, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
GRAPHICS MEMORY: 3GB
