Rockstar Games have teased fans everywhere with a mysterious red and black logo, with all signs pointing towards an impending Red Dead Redemption related announcement.

Fans of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption have rallied their hopes behind the announcement of a sequel for years, with rumours of leaked maps and hints on their website ramping up speculation, but now it seems the studio is ready to announce some official news.

Taking to Twitter, Rockstar Games posted a red and black logo identical to the background of the original games’ cover art.

Are we allowed to start freaking out yet? What’s the hype protocol for these situations?

Rockstar have also updated their official news website to sport the coloured background, indicating this perhaps won’t be no small announcement.

While it’s merely speculation at this point over whether it does correlate to an incoming sequel (or whether it’s connected to Red Dead Redemption at all), it’s also possible it could simply result in an announcement of a remaster for current consoles.

But the disappointment of that isn’t worth thinking about – let’s move on.

The original Red Dead Redemption was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in May 2010. It’s not playable on PlayStation 4, but is currently supported on Xbox One through its backwards compatibility service.
