Pokemon Go is available for iOS and Android devices. (Niantic)
In the latest Pokemon Go update, Porygon2 has become available.
This comes in a massive new upgrade to the game that adds in over 80 Pokemon. In addition to being able to catch new creatures in the wild, you can also evolve some first generation Pokemon into second generation Pokemon.
One of those is Porygon, which can now be evolved into Porygon2. You’ll need two things in order to obtain Porygon2 via evolution: First, you need 50 Porygon Candies, and secondly, you need to obtain an Up-Grade item.
Up-Grade is one of several evolution items that are now a part of Pokemon Go as of the February 16th update. These items can only be obtained by visiting PokeStops; they will be given out randomly, so you will just have to keep visiting PokeStops in hopes of finally coming across an Up-Grade.
These evolution items like the Up-Grade only have one use, and so once you use an Up-Grade to evolve Porygon into Porygon 2, it’s gone forever.
Here’s a look at what the process of evolving Porygon looks like via Reddit:
